Wolfsschlucht 3D Archery Course
The Wolfsschlucht 3D Archery Course was opened in the summer of 2013 in a quarry between the Lower Franconian villages Kembach and Holzkirchhausen. It is operated by Peter Ament, who has built him completely by himself gradually.
The Facilities of the Course
The course has 30 stations that have been beautifully integrated into the old quarry and arranged with great attention to detail. Archery Courses in quarries are very rare and something very special. The shots are demanding and very varied. There are shots of tree trunks, steep uphill and downhill shots and shots on artificial islands. A highlight besides many other great targets, for example, is a steep 30 meter downhill shot on a dragon. Also long shots are plentiful on this course. Overall, the course is especially suitable for advanced and ambitious archers. At each station there are three different colored pegs. A yellow peg for compound, a red peg for adults and a blue peg for kids, teens and beginners.
Landscape and Special Features
The trails were wonderfully integrated into the landscape. So that the gradients in the quarry can be better overcome, more than 100 steps were struck into the terrain and secured many critical points. The archers who visit this course should be sure-footed and in some places also free from giddiness and always equip themselves with sturdy shoes. The signposting on the terrain is also good, so it’s almost impossible to get lost. It takes about four hours to complete a round on the Wolfsschlucht 3D Archery Course, covering about 5 km.
Although the course runs in the quarry, the arrow break is limited, because in many places there are backstops. Some of them have been painted in such a way that they are not visible. In the course there are some resting places, as well as barbecue places. There is also a break station, where you can find cold drinks, sometimes coffee or biscuits for a small donation.
Registration & Prices
The registration for the course is located centrally in the grounds. There is a small ticket booth where the formalities of each shooter can be done independently.
The fee is a daily fee and is 12,- EUR for adults. For children up to 12 years a reduced fee of 10, – EUR is payable.
