Rieneck 3D Archery Course

The Rieneck archery course is the newest in the region and is located in the eastern Spessart. It is operated by EP-Extratouren, a non-profit educational company specializing in experiential education for young people and young adults.

The course leads along a slope near the Rieneck Castle through mixed and coniferous forests and across numerous meadows. It has 28 Stations, each with one to three targets per station. The course has a total of approx. 55 3D animals. Along the course of the course you have a wonderful view of the picturesque Sinn valley in several places. The distances at the stations are moderate with many hunting shots from the cover.

The course of the circular route, because it runs along a slope with sometimes quite steep ascents and descents, can be described as demanding and sturdy footwear is an absolute must.

Registration and Course Use

Registration for the course takes place at the registration hut. This is about 150m above the parking lot. Registration forms are available there, which after filling in must be thrown into a slot along with the course fee. The registration is based on trust. Each shooter must also write in a shooting book and resign after leaving the course.

In order to be able to use the Rieneck archery course, you must have your own archery equipment or at least bring your own, as there is no rental of bows on site.

Prices and Opening Hours

The course is open all year round. The daily opening times are different every month and are based on sunrise and sunset. Details see below.

The charge is a daily fee, i. you can go as many rounds as you like during the day. Adults (over 18 years) pay 12, – EUR per day, children and youths (12 to 17 years) pay 5, – EUR and children under 12 accompanied by a paying adult are free of charge. It is a daily fee, which means you can run as many course rounds as you like.

Registration and payment take place on site at the registration box.

Payment of the course fee is only possible in cash. The fee is to be brought along appropriately.

Sheet rental is not offered on site. However, there are some archery shops in our region, where you can rent archery euipment for one day or even for a long time after prior arrangement.

The course has 28 stations with about 55 3D animals.

For the approximately 3 km long round on the course, about 2.5 to 3 hours must be planned.

The area is in varied terrain and leads over meadows, as well as through mixed and coniferous forest. The route is sometimes very demanding, as there are some differences in height to be overcome.

On the course no broadheads are allowed.

Compound bows are allowed up to 60 lb. maximum draw weight and there are no arrow speed limit.

Dogs may be brought along the course if they are kept on a leash.

Directly on the course there is only a supply of drinks for a fee in the registration hut.

About 100m from the parking lot at the cemetery there is a Dixi toilet that can be used.
